If you’re like us, and drinking coffee is one of your favourite past times, you will love this list of some of the local places to get Coffee on the South Coast! There are of course many more places to discover- we would love to hear what your favourite place is?

 

Qahwa Espresso Bar, Victor Harbor

Located right on the beach front and the home of the Beach Volleyball courts, this relaxed venue offers great coffee, a delicious lunch menu and selection of sweets. Children get free reign of the sandy volleyball courts to run around and play!  With relaxed music, and fully licenced, this place is perfect for a lazy afternoon in the sun. 

 

DeGroot Coffee, Waterport Road, Port Elliot

This gem, tucked away in a warehouse style shed roasts their own coffee and is an absolute hit with the locals! You can take a seat in their industrial styled cafe and breathe in the aromas, or grab one to go prior to heading to the beach or to take on the Port Elliot shops! 

 

Pipi at Middleton, 25 Goolwa Road, Middleton

This relatively new, Middleton Cafe has fast become THE place to be in Middleton. Offering fabulous coffee, cold pressed juice, smoothies, raw treats, and a creative local menu for breakfast and lunch!
Sit inside the light filled cafe or enjoy the peaceful courtyard out the back!

 

Thunderbird, 41 The Strand Port Elliot

Thunderbird, situated on the popular ‘Strand’ in Port Elliot, is not only a successful wine bar and restaurant, it also offers fantastic coffee! Sit inside in one of the comfy armchairs, or enjoy some people watching on the deck! 

 

The Anchorage, 21 Flinders Parade Victor Harbor

The Anchorage is a restaurant, cafe and accommodation provider located on the seafront in Victor Harbor. Here you’ll be greeted by friendly staff and a range of cakes and pastries to go with your coffee! There’s a great atmosphere inside, with a roaring fire during the colder months, and a fabulous outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice, overlooking the ocean.

 

Motherduck Cafe, 1/ 13 Cadell Street Goolwa

Motherduck has well and truly become the place to visit when in Goolwa, as they offer not only amazing coffee, but a huge range of wholesome and healthy food, raw deserts, cold pressed juice, smoothies and even Kambucha. This cafe has such a great atmosphere, with funky interior design, and limited seating outside so you can enjoy your coffee and a spot of people watching! 

 

Jetty Foodstore, 42 North Terrace Port Elliot

Located in the cosmopolitan hub of Port Elliot, Jetty Food Store offers a farmers market style store, full of local fresh produce, delicious bakery goods, salads and fresh juices. Pick up your groceries then reward yourself with a coffee!

Top 5 Toddler Friendly Playgrounds!

 

If you want somewhere to take your toddler to run off some energy, here are our top 5 toddler friendly Playgrounds on the South Coast!

 

  1. Train Park, Flinders Parade Victor Harbor

Located next to the beach, this playground is very popular with locals and tourists alike. Featuring many different playing zones for all abilities and the major feature is the train that children can play in! This playground is fully fenced, and has shaded BBQs, seating areas and public toilets. Easy access to the horse drawn tram, visitor information centre and shops, it is a great base to spend a whole day!

 

  1. Lakala Reserve, Young Street Port Elliot  

This reserve has a large lake where you can feed the ducks, and features BBQ’s, a rotunda and public toilets. The playground is nestled into the native surrounds, with lower equipment for climbing, sliding and swinging!

 

  1. Abbots Reserve, Ellensford Terrace Middleton

Tucked in a street back from the main road, this playground offers lots of space to run around under the shade of the trees, and perfect spots to set up a picnic or have a BBQ. If you have older children to entertain as well, there is a basketball hoop, tennis court available to hire, and also a bike ramp just down the road.

 

  1. Arthur Neighbour Reserve, Goolwa

Located close the main street, this toddler friendly playground features plenty of equipment to climb on, swings and space to run around. Also has access to toilets. Perfect place to spend some time after a look around the shops!

 

  1. Tabernacle Road, Encounter Bay

This is a lovely little playground, featuring swings and play equipment with a slide. It is fenced from the road, and also has public toilets. With lots of lawn and shade, it also includes a little beach and access into the Encounter Lakes.
