Rental properties on the Fleurieu Peninsula’s South Coast are commanding very strong demand and returns due to the region’s changing demographic profile and an increasingly tight rental market. Harcourts South Coast's portfolio of long-term rental properties under management - one of the largest on the Fleurieu Peninsula - is at capacity and we are fielding an average of five enquiries a day from would-be renters, with additional investors required to help ease the severe shortage of rental stocks.

More people are moving to the South Coast for a number of reasons. They range from retirees to young families. Some are coming to take up jobs while others are coming for the lifestyle and commuting to jobs elsewhere on the Fleurieu and in Adelaide’s South. Victor Harbor and the Fleurieu Peninsula have been identified as being among Australia’s hottest real estate markets and strongest population growth centres between now and 2050. The National Sea Change Task Force suggests the region’s population will swell from 40,000 currently to about 150,000 by 2050 and projects worth more than half a billion dollars are currently proposed to support that growth, including duplication of the Southern Expressway.
